Job summary

DuckDuckGo is seeking an Engineering Director, Privacy, to own high‑complexity privacy initiatives across our products. You will drive privacy engineering, lead cross‑functional teams, and shape our privacy strategy while advancing our mission of private browsing and private search.

You will lead critical initiatives, build automation, and mentor the next generation of privacy engineers in a remote-first environment with ownership across projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading privacy reviews for consumer products.
• 4+ years privacy engineering leadership—building data-minimization systems.
• Director/Head/VP-level experience with direct management and hiring responsibilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Own high-complexity privacy projects from definition to delivery.
• Evolve privacy triage and review processes across the org.
• Build automation that reduces engineering toil and improves privacy tooling.
• Grow the next generation of privacy engineers and shape privacy strategy.
