Job summary

DuckDuckGo is seeking an Engineering Director, Privacy to own and drive high‑impact privacy initiatives across our products. You’ll lead complex programs, architect privacy‑preserving solutions, and scale our review processes while mentoring a team of privacy engineers.

You’ll collaborate with product, security, and data teams to balance user privacy with product goals, shaping privacy strategy and ensuring execution across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading privacy reviews, audits, or technical privacy programs at large consumer-facing products.
• 4+ years privacy engineering leadership—building infra tooling, data minimization, or privacy-preserving solutions.
• Director/Head/VP level with direct management and hiring responsibilities and meaningful technical scope.
• Proven ability to drive high-complexity cross-functional projects with minimal direction.
• Excellent communication translating privacy principles into engineering decisions across stakeholders.
• Experience improving organizational processes, automation, and scalable reviews.
• Passion for privacy and raising online trust standards.
