Job summary

DuckDuckGo is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to own design quality across our products, including Duck.ai, native apps, and search. You will prototype in code, collaborate with engineers, and lead high-impact projects with autonomy in a privacy-focused environment.

You will drive end-to-end design decisions, contribute to design systems, and mentor others while shaping the role within our remote-first team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product design roles, incl. 2+ years senior-level at global consumer brands.
• Pushes creative limits on hard design problems delivering craft and quality.
• Communicates visual and interaction recommendations through mockups, rationale, prototypes, and motion details.
• Partners with engineers as a peer—contributing code where it raises design quality.
• Prototypes in code to production standards with semantic markup and accessibility.
• Experience structuring a design system beyond component inventory: tokens, naming, parity.
• Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research to inform design.
• Experience in prioritization, strategy, and user testing.
• Takes initiative and works openly with urgency and discretion.
• Experience building tools to accelerate design and engineering workflows.
