Socket.dev is seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to maintain tax records and file local, state, and federal returns for Workforce Go! clients.

You will serve as a tax expert, resolve complex issues, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction. The role combines analytical skills with compliance knowledge and requires 1–2 years payroll tax experience (or 4+ years in payroll tax).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in accounting/finance or related field.
• 1–2 years payroll tax experience or 4+ years directly related payroll tax in corporate or service provider environment.
• Master Tax or similar payroll tax system experience preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tax Account Setup & Agency Communication: establish and manage tax filing accounts for federal and state agencies.
• Payroll Tax Document Analysis & Adjustments: review, validate, and adjust payroll tax documents for accuracy.
• Issue Resolution & Research: investigate complex payroll tax issues and provide guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Reporting & Reconciliation: manage weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting and end-of-year tasks (W-2/W-3).
