The American Geophysical Union (AGU) seeks a Community Building and Engagement Lead to oversee volunteer engagement, stakeholder relationships, and community development. This is a full-time, grant-funded role with a remote-first approach and broad benefits.

The position emphasizes building scalable systems, recruitment pipelines, and sustained participation across the SAI network. You will recruit scientists, manage partnerships, and drive community growth while coordinating with assessment

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in a relevant field; Doctoral degree is an asset.
• Experience leading volunteer programs or community engagement initiatives.
• Proven ability to design and manage stakeholder engagement processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Lead recruitment and selection of volunteer participants across SAI programs.
• Develop a volunteer talent pipeline, onboarding, and participation metrics.
• Build and retain the contributor community including authors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement throughout assessment lifecycles.
• Partner with Lead Report Editors for author recruitment and team formation.
• Lead external engagement activities: newsletters, events, partnerships.
• Develop and improve engagement systems, tools, and reporting.
