EEI in Chicago, IL seeks an Electrical Specialist to independently perform commissioning, testing, and verification of electrical building systems in the field for mission-critical facilities. The role requires attention to detail and ability to operate independently in the field.

The position offers travel up to 75% with a hybrid work environment, and a compensation range of $83,000–$120,000 annually. EEI emphasizes employee ownership and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems, facilities operations, commissioning, construction, engineering, or related environment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, submittals, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning testing and verification activities for electrical systems in mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems across full-load, no-load, and failure conditions and coordinate with project teams.
• Produce clear commissioning documentation in line with project requirements and client deliverables.
• Verify installations against design specifications and industry standards to ensure safe operation.
• Serve as on-site technical contact, communicating status and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to safe, reliable project execution in a fast-paced environment.
