Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to scale Advanced trading products globally. You will own backend services in Golang with gRPC, shaping social, asset discovery, and real-time notification experiences across asset classes.

Expect to work from a remote-first, hybrid model with quarterly in-person surges. The role emphasizes end-to-end design, high-performance systems, and collaboration with product and design teams across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Significant experience with Golang and gRPC.
• Hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, and similar tools.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL, GraphQL, and ETL pipelines.
• Ability to take ambiguous projects from concept to production with judgment.
• Uses AI responsibly with human oversight for business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, development and reliability of backend services.
• Lead experiments to optimize trading funnels using data.
• Drive time-to-market for features via scalable system trade-offs.
• Champion best practices across design, code, tests, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and designers across time zones.
