Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking a Lead Android Engineer to own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of a mobile banking platform. You will lead a small Android team embedded in cross-functional value streams, while coding daily and owning roadmaps in a regulated fintech environment.

You will collaborate with product, design, iOS, QA, backend, and DevOps to deliver secure, high-quality mobile experiences for financial institution clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years Android development experience with Kotlin.
• 2+ years in a tech lead or senior leadership role managing direct reports.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, MVVM/Clean Architecture, Repository pattern, coroutines, and Flow.
• Experience with DI frameworks (Hilt or Dagger) and Android testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, MockK).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and mobile networking patterns.
• CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub Actions, Bitrise or equivalent).
• Fintech / regulated environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Android technical roadmap and architecture.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, and release readiness.
• Lead solution design for features balancing scalability and security.
• Plan, estimate, and track delivery across value streams and manage risks.
• Contribute production code and mentor three direct reports.
• Coordinate with QA and DevOps on test strategy and CI/CD, participate in on-call rotation.
