Job summary

Jensen Hughes is looking for a motivated Business Development Specialist to drive growth in fire engineering and building safety across the UK and Ireland. The role involves identifying opportunities, engaging with developers, architects and clients, and coordinating proposals with our technical teams.

You will maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline, support bid activity, and help convert opportunities into ordered work.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification preferred, and/or at least two years’ experience in business development, bid coordination, sales support or a similar client-facing role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or another CRM platform preferred.
• Experience using public-sector procurement portals or tender portals to monitor opportunities in the UK and Ireland preferred.
• Experience in professional services or engineering consultancy and related fields preferred.
• Confident using CRM systems and keeping pipeline information accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities

• Develop business development opportunities across the UK and Ireland by identifying client groups.
• Follow up on leads, enquiries, bid opportunities and framework opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide clear explanations of our fire engineering and related services to clients.
• Work with technical colleagues and marketing to prepare proposals and client-facing materials.
• Communicate with clients through calls, meetings and written correspondence to ensure a professional experience.
• Coordinate technical input and ensure responses are accurate and commercially appropriate.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support service renewals and account activity.
• Maintain an clear view of the opportunity pipeline and progress proposals to orders.
• Maintain accurate CRM and sales data for opportunities, bids, orders and contacts.
