Job summary

Ehvert Mission Critical seeks a Fire Alarm & Fire Protection Design Engineer for a long‑term independent contractor role. You will design and coordinate fire protection systems for data center projects across the U.S., using Revit to deliver calculations, layouts, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (fire protection, fire alarms, electrical, mechanical, or related field).
• 4–5 years of experience in fire alarm and fire protection design.
• Proven expertise in design of fire alarm, fire protection, and/or life safety systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC codes and standards.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) B1 or higher.
• Hands‑on experience with Autodesk Revit.

Responsibilities

• Modeling fire alarm and fire protection systems using Revit and coordinating with other disciplines.
• Developing project scope, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Expediting engineering deliverables and maintaining scope of work documentation.
• Designing fire protection systems (fire suppression, detection, life safety) and preparing calculations and drawings.
• Reviewing shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent.
• Producing BIM/CAD models and drawings; occasional site visits.
