Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services, seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to join the Fire Protection & Life Safety team. You will design fire suppression and fire alarm systems for complex facilities, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader.

This on-site role requires a PE in Fire Protection, Revit proficiency, and experience with NFPA codes. Travel to project sites possible; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Discipline.
• Familiarity with NFPA, IBC, local fire codes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Revit for fire protection drawings and models.
• Experience with fire alarm, mass notification, fire suppression, hydraulic calculations, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire suppression system layouts.
• Perform hydraulic calculations.
• Develop fire alarm system drawings.
• Prepare construction documents.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams.
• Use Revit and other related design tools.
• Review codes and standards.
• Support permitting and construction phases.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure compliant, efficient, and resilient fire protection solutions.
• Participate in site visits, field verifications, and quality assurance reviews.
