Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a FinOps Analyst to optimize cloud spend and train customers on cost management tools. You will work with CMS Cloud Product Tools, act as billing expert, and champion automated FinOps processes across large cloud workloads.

You will communicate findings and provide financial reporting to CMS Hybrid Cloud teams, aiming to improve usage, billing clarity, and funding utilization while delivering customer-focused support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, CS, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
• 1+ years relevant experience in Cloud or Financial Operations
• FinOps experience required; AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP cost analysis
• Effective communication skills both orally and written; Effective organizational skills
• 2+ years experience preferred; FinOps Practitioner Certification; hands-on analysis for cost optimization
• Location: 100% remote with onsite once a year
• Security clearance requires Public Trust and onsite fingerprinting
• Residence in United States for last 3 of 5 years; no visa sponsorship for this role

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting and reviewing financial data from Cloud sources (AWS Cost Explorer, etc.)
• Create and maintain financial deliverables via JIRA, Confluence, Excel, or dashboards
• Analyze customer cloud requirements and provide technical knowledge on cloud techniques
• Research and deploy cloud cost optimization techniques (e.g., Low Utilization, Savings Plans)
• Support master payer accounts with 100+ linked accounts
• Provide extensive and timely customer service responses
• Maintain knowledge of OCI or GCP as a discriminator
• Perform cost analysis using Cost usage reports
• Participate in special projects as required
