Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst to support and optimize the firm’s financial platforms. The role collaborates with Finance, Revenue Management, Billing, Accounting, and HR to gather requirements and translate them into actionable system solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the Aderant Expert suite, strong SQL skills, and a deep understanding of law-firm financial processes including time entry, rates, and billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, computer science or a related field required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with the Aderant Expert suite required, including rate, timekeeper, client/matter and billing setup.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and T‑SQL required.
• Experience with Aderant Expert strongly preferred.
• Understanding of law firm financial workflows including time entry, rates, billing and collections.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the firm’s financial systems: Aderant Expert Classic, Expert Framework, iTimekeep, Intapp Open, Chrome River, BillBlast and others.
• Gather requirements from business partners and translate into functional specs for financial systems.
• Set up and maintain timekeeper rates, clients, matters, and billing teams; manage rate changes and end dates.
• Manage user security and access for multiple systems and groups.
• Develop and maintain SSRS reports, alerts and ad hoc queries for Finance and Billing.
• Create/modify DocuDraft bill templates and disbursement codes.
• Maintain data integrity and perform data clean-up and mass updates.
• Support data mapping and integrations with Workday, Intapp, VersaPay, Onyx.
• Assist with testing, upgrades, and new system implementations.
• Provide Help Desk support for financial systems and document user guides.
