Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead in Finance Strategy, Special Projects and Solution Design to drive high‑impact initiatives across finance functions. You will design solutions, improve processes, and transform operating models while partnering with Finance leadership to deliver measurable business value.

The role focuses on special projects, while also supporting portfolio management activities, prioritizing initiatives, sequencing work, and tracking budget and value realization. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6+ years in strategy, transformation, process improvement, solution design, project management, consulting, or related.
• 2+ years of experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives.
• Ability to assess business challenges, develop practical solutions, and drive execution across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic projects focused on process improvement, solution design, operating model transformation, and automation.
• Partner with Finance leaders and stakeholders to assess needs, define requirements, and design solutions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies to improve Finance capabilities.
• Support development of Finance target-state capabilities, operating models, and roadmaps.
• Analyze operational, financial, and strategic considerations to help leaders evaluate investments and decisions.
• Drive execution of approved initiatives, including planning, coordination, issue resolution, and executive reporting.
• Facilitate collaboration and best‑practice sharing across Finance and partner organizations.
• Lead cross‑functional efforts requiring coordination across Finance, Technology, Data & Analytics, Governance, and business teams.
• Contribute to Finance portfolio management activities, including prioritization frameworks, sequencing, budgeting, and value measurement.
• Develop presentations, recommendations, and executive communications detailing objectives and progress.
• Support organizational change management activities, including communications and training.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators and value metrics.
