Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in the United States is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to serve as the primary finance partner for the Southern Division Office and its programs. This hands-on leadership role combines day-to-day financial management with strategic planning.

You will independently manage journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while shaping funding and resource allocation strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong financial leadership in nonprofit environment.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and year-end close.
• Ability to translate priorities into financial strategy and actionable plans.
• Excellent collaboration with program teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial activities for the assigned portfolio, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and year-end close.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and financial reporting for the portfolio.
• Deliver high-quality financial reporting, complex analysis, scenario modeling, and recommendations for leadership.
• Independently analyze financial information and develop recommendations on budgets, forecasts, funding, and resource allocation.
• Translate organizational priorities into financial strategies and actionable plans.
• Proactively identify financial issues, opportunities, and needs; present options to leadership.
• Serve as a finance thought partner to program and Division leaders.
• Participate in leadership meetings, planning discussions, and retreats to provide financial perspective.
