Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Finance Director to lead the Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia finance pod, guiding budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial decisions across the region. You will collaborate with conservation, philanthropy, and operations leadership to deliver high‑level analysis and sustain financial health for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with GAAP and not-for-profit accounting and government grants.
• Experience leading and developing finance staff.
• Experience budgeting, high‑level analysis, and strategic partnership with leadership.
• Strong advisory collaboration with senior executives.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems, including Workday or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and financial reporting.
• Deliver high‑quality analysis, scenario modeling, and strategic recommendations.
• Identify risks/opportunities, optimize resource allocation, and support objectives.
• Coordinate finance services across pods and partner with embedded business units.
• Supervise and develop finance staff; drive accountability and collaboration.
• Serve as a financial resource to leadership, boards, and committees.
