Job summary

Advocate Health is offering a remote internship in the People & Culture Workforce Development department. The program runs May 31, 2027 through August 6, 2027, with 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri during business hours.

Remote work is available to residents in listed states, including North Carolina. The intern will use Excel to automate processes, analyze charges, and support financial planning and reporting, contributing to cost accounting, budgeting, and revenue cycle activities across Advocate

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated processes in Excel to minimize manual work.
• Review and analyze discrepancies in charges and assist in resolving them.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data for trend calculations.
• Participate in cost accounting development and budgeting variance analysis.
• Assist in pricing and market analysis related to government programs and reimbursement.
• Support budgeting and reporting activities across finance functions.
• Assist with revenue cycle projects such as cash posting and insurance follow up.
• Track and update reports and provide administrative support as needed.
• Investigate internal financial reporting questions to ensure policy compliance.
