Job summary

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a Finance Analyst to join our remote team in Canada. You will regularly analyze transactions and balances for accuracy, prepare journal entries, and monitor travel advances against expense claims.

You will identify process deficiencies and support the monthly general ledger close and audits. Ideal candidates hold a university degree in Finance or related field with 1–3 years of experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent analytical and communication

Qualifications

A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
General knowledge of accounting theory, techniques and policies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Regularly analyze transactions and balances to ensure accuracy and prepare correcting journal entries as required.
Calculate monthly reallocations and prepare related journal entries.
Monitor travel advances against expense claims and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Identify deficiencies in transactional processes and suggest improvements.
Ensure the monthly general ledger process runs on schedule.
Support internal and external audits as needed; cross-train with other analysts for coverage.
