Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Film Editor to assemble raw footage into compelling narratives for feature films, documentaries, and series. You will collaborate closely with directors and producers to shape pacing, rhythm, and emotional impact across projects in the Arts & Entertainment sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of professional film editing experience.
• Proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
• Demonstrated experience working remotely, managing files, and collaborating effectively with remote teams.
• Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including color grading, sound design, and mixing.
• Excellent storytelling skills, with a keen sense of pacing, rhythm, and emotional impact.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to receive and incorporate constructive criticism.
• High-speed internet connection and a reliable home editing setup are essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with VFX integration and motion graphics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into feature films, documentaries, short films, and other video content according to project briefs.
• Collaborate closely with directors and producers to understand their vision and translate it into the edit.
• Select the best takes, sequences, and shots to create a compelling narrative flow and pacing.
• Assemble rough cuts, fine cuts, and final picture lock for review and approval.
• Incorporate feedback from directors, producers, and other stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
• Perform color correction and basic sound mixing as needed within the editing software.
• Ensure all media assets are organized, logged, and managed effectively.
• Maintain a deep understanding of storytelling techniques and cinematic language.
• Manage project timelines and deliver edited content within established deadlines.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to editing software and hardware remotely.
• Stay updated on the latest editing technologies and post-production workflows.
