Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a field service technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot turbomachinery and package systems at customer sites across the West Texas region.

Responsibilities include on-site preventive maintenance, inspections, call-out services and commissioning activities, with supervision for installations and adjustments as needed. Eligible employees receive benefits from day one, including health plans, HSA/FSAs, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and troubleshoots equipment at the customer's location using a set of tools, parts and technical diagrams.
• This position will be working Remotely but candidates must reside in the West Texas area
• Use a variety of test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions and refer to schematics and specifications with guidance from experienced staff.
• Under supervision use hand tools, gauges and instruments to analyze, repair or replace faulty parts.
• Observe and check for common causes of trouble, such as dirty or defective components, with guidance from supervisors.
• Under supervision perform routine installations and make adjustments within normal procedures.

• Service Excellence : Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
• Mechanical Maintenance - Power Supply : ability to conduct preventive maintenance and repairs or replacements on faulty mechanical parts used in power plants.
• Mechanical Maintenance (Oil and Gas) : Knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance; ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts used in hydrocarbon exploration, production or refining.
• Safety (Oil and Gas) : Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory requirements; OGUK certification may be required.
