Job summary

A recruiting firm seeks a Field Service Technician with power transformer experience to support large-scale projects across the United States. This role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing power transformers with an extensive travel requirement (90% travel). The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically capable, and comfortable with demanding schedules. Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate, substantial overtime pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical and 401K with match.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing power transformers is required.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and blueprints is required.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to travel 3-4 weeks at a time and work 7 days per week at project sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing power transformers at customer and project sites.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on power transformers.
• Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of transformers and related electrical system issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with assigned crew members.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure work quality meets company standards and industry regulations.
• Travel extensively and work extended schedules.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.

Skills
