Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the Midwest Chicago area. You will be responsible for customer satisfaction, preventive maintenance, regular upgrades, and acting as a customer advocate within Beckman Coulter technical staff.

The role requires travel up to 50%, lifting up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver’s license. Remote work is available within the Chicago region.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years Field Service experience or an Associate’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, biology or life science, or equivalent.
• Experience using standard test equipment to troubleshoot and service instrumentation.
• Excellent customer communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is a plus; repair field service experience preferred; highly computer literate (MS Office, PowerBI, Salesforce, ServiceMax).

Responsibilities

• Drive a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and with a 'first time fix' focus.
• Manage a customer account in its entirety, and identify where we can add value (reagents, consumables, new equipment leads, service on non‑agreement instruments).
• Grow strong customer relationships and contribute to district revenue targets with annual YoY growth of 8–10%.
