Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the Chicago area from the North Central District. You’ll drive customer satisfaction, perform preventive maintenance, and upgrades, while building strong relationships.

The role requires a 50% travel commitment, a strong mechanical/electrical background, and proficiency with MS Office, PowerBI, Salesforce, and ServiceMax. Remote work is supported within the Midwest region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years field service experience.
• Associate's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or life sciences, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience using standard test equipment to troubleshoot and service instrumentation.
• Excellent customer communication skills.
• Willing to travel up to 50% including overnight stays.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Repair field service experience in related field.
• Highly computer literate: MS Office, PowerBI, Salesforce, ServiceMax.

Responsibilities

• Drive a sense of urgency to address customer needs with a first-time fix.
• Manage a customer account and identify opportunities for value-add services.
• Build relationships and contribute to district revenue growth.
• Partner with Sales on lead generation initiatives.
• Support field service maintenance and growth of service agreements.
• Aim for year-over-year revenue growth of 8–10%.
