Job summary

General Motors is seeking Field Service Engineers to provide on-site and remote technical support across dealerships in the US. The role includes diagnosing complex vehicle issues, reducing warranty costs, and coordinating with GM’s regional teams to improve service readiness.

Travel to dealerships is required, with relocation options available for qualified candidates. The position emphasizes deep knowledge of GM diagnostic tools, strong customer relations, and the ability to train dealership

Qualifications

• Must have extensive hands-on automotive dealership service experience.
• State Automotive Technician Certifications as required by state/local law.
• Flexibility to travel 50%+ and live within approved territory or relocate to the area.

Responsibilities

• Provide third level, on-site support to resolve automotive technical issues and escalations.
• Manage and review dealer repurchase risks with regional teams and a focus on reducing buybacks.
• Support Techline tools and diagnostics at GM dealerships and train dealer staff as needed.
• Drive PI bulletin process and notify TAC Escalation Team of field fixes.
• Address dealership customer problems via phone or on-site visits and report on health of service readiness.
