Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Field Technical Specialist to support roofing field operations on a remote nationwide basis with heavy travel. You will conduct post-job walks, evaluate workmanship, document findings, and provide technical guidance to contractors and customers across East or West regions.

The role requires strong roofing expertise, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently in a highly mobile field environment. Travel up to 75% across the U.S. and Canada is expected.

Qualifications

• Field inspections or field documentation experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 75% annually or more.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of independent work in a dynamic field environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, post-job walks, and technical evaluations.
• Evaluate roofing installation quality and workmanship.
• Document inspection findings in company standards.
• Maintain records of field activities and customer interactions.
• Support escalated claims investigations under guidance of technical leadership.
• Apply safety standards during all field activities.
• Assess jobsite conditions and determine safe inspection feasibility.
• Interact with contractors, homeowners, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to contractors for installation questions.
• Respond to inquiries in a timely, professional, solution-oriented manner.
• Gather contractor feedback and market insights for improvements.
• Deliver contractor training and field-based demonstrations.
• Collaborate with Field Technical & Quality Assurance, Customer Solutions, and Sales.
