Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Property Field Inspection Claim Specialist to handle accident and weather-related homeowners, commercial, and large-loss claims. You will conduct on-site assessments, gather evidence, and communicate with policyholders and agents to resolve claims with empathy and accuracy.

The role requires physical agility, a valid driver's license, and readiness to work remote-field in Statesville, NC, with travel as needed across designated territories.

Qualifications

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions
• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology and apply that knowledge accurately in practical situations
• Ability to effectively interact with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to move claims forward efficiently
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Proficiency in using mobile/desktop tools to document and support claims both in the field and remotely
• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR are required

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of property damages for both residential and commercial claims
• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved parties to gather information and resolve claims efficiently
• May interact with parties who express strong emotions or concerns about inspections or claim resolutions
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries promptly
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports to support claims handling
• Investigate and adjust both personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and regulatory compliance
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits per policy provisions and company guidelines
