Job summary

Ohio Transmission Corporation seeks an experienced Field HR Manager to align people strategies with business objectives across designated units, with a remote option in the Midwest. This role requires strong expertise in employee relations, policy guidance, and workforce design.

You will lead investigations, advise line management, drive retention initiatives, and support talent reviews, organizational design, succession planning, and training programs while ensuring legal compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Willing to travel up to 50% due to acquisition integration.
• Working knowledge of compensation practices, organizational design, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• SHRM-CP preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret and apply employment laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
• Consults with line management, providing HR guidance.
• Analyzes trends and metrics with HR to develop solutions and policies.
• Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts investigations.
• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management.
• Works with management to improve work relationships, morale, and retention.
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Supports organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
• Identifies training needs for business units and executive coaching.
• Evaluates training programs to ensure objectives are met.
• Facilitates Leadership Talent Reviews.
• Ensures consistent application of HR policies.
• Maintains org charts and employee directory.
• Partners with management to align HR goals with business initiatives.
• Designs and implements employee retention strategies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
