Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking a Compliance Environmental Specialist (Assistant Environmental Specialist 2) to conduct field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls for construction projects. The role is remote with travel to project sites regionally, supporting permit reviews, reporting, and data collection.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences and 2–4 years of field monitoring experience, plus strong technical writing and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of demonstrated experience in performing environmental field monitoring.
• Comprehension of E&S control BMP concepts, designs, and maintenance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to utilize GPS or GPS-enabled device to collect data tied to a project location.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MS Office applications; familiar with report, database, and form completion.

Responsibilities

• Perform field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls on various construction projects.
• Review permits, E&S control and stormwater plans, and related conditions.
• Prepare and review periodic monitoring reports based on field observations.
• Assist with environmental reports, permit applications, and closeout documents.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and QA/QC procedures.
