Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Field Diagnostics Technician – Truck‑Mounted Lifting Systems, primarily remote with a Hartford, CT base. You will diagnose and repair articulating cranes and related equipment at customer sites, manage preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies around the clock.

Role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge, plus 3 years of crane/forklift experience and a valid CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days. Tools are provided; your own are welcome.

Qualifications

• Proven proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; advanced diagnostics; welding.
• 3 years’ mechanical experience or training with emphasis on articulating cranes and forklifts.
• English fluency (speak, read, and write).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Execute quarterly preventive maintenance aligned with customer schedules, conduct Annual DOT inspections, and perform warranty services.
• Provide rapid response for emergency/unscheduled service during working and non‑working hours.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to job site and fleet managers in clear, actionable terms.
• Complete accurate, timely service documentation: estimates, work order approvals, parts ordering and tracking, labor logging, and inventory records.
• Comply with all state and federal safety regulations.
