Job summary

Drata is seeking a Field Chief Information Security Officer to extend our security and GRC leadership to customers, prospects, and industry peers. This remote, U.S.-based role reports to the SVP, Security & CISO, shaping how we respond to industry shifts and influence product direction.

You’ll partner with GTM teams, lead CISO-to-CISO conversations, and represent Drata at conferences, roundtables, and webinars while guiding strategic security and GRC programs across Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in security and GRC, including 10+ years leading teams and 5+ years in the CISO seat.
• Strong grasp of ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, GDPR, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, CCPA with depth.
• Excellent communication skills for boardroom and technical deep-dives.
• Genuine reputation and network in the security and GRC community.
• Experience at senior IC level in security or GRC leadership.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% (incl. international travel).
• Based on East Coast or willing to work EST hours for Americas/EMEA coverage.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing on strategic enterprise opportunities with security/GRC input.
• Lead executive briefings and CISO-to-CISO conversations to build trust.
• Represent Drata at industry conferences, dinners, and regional roundtables across regions.
• Share field insights via webinars, panels, bylines, and press to build credibility.
• Advise leadership on regulatory shifts and where security/GRC strategy should head next.
• Influence product roadmap and GTM growth with field experience and customer needs.
