Job summary

Federal, LLC is seeking a Support Engineer for its U.S. Government Support Engineering team. You will diagnose and resolve complex issues in highly secure government deployments, leveraging Linux, Ruby, Rails, and AI-powered tooling.

The role emphasizes on-call rotation participation, documentation, and collaboration with Product and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliant, durable fixes in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing customer-facing cases across full support lifecycle.
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered developer tooling and gateway architectures.
• Ability to use scripting languages (Ruby or Bash) and MVC frameworks (Ruby on Rails).
• Practical experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of container-orchestration (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of information security controls (DISA STIG, SELinux).
• Eligibility to work on United States federal customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in government deployments with strict security and compliance constraints.
• Perform deep investigations using Linux CLI, analyzing logs and performance; reproduce defects with sanitized data.
• Document reusable support content and improve self-service resources.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, and Infrastructure teams; share knowledge via pairing sessions.
• Contribute to internal tools and workflows to improve diagnosis and resolution efficiency.
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist with hiring assessments.
