Job summary

Commence seeks an Information System Security Officer to own security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for federal systems. You will work with the CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and project teams to sustain ATOs across CMS, VA, DoD, IRS, and DHS programs.

Required are 5+ years in information assurance, 3+ years as ISSO/A&A lead, and a bachelor’s degree. Knowledge of CMS ARS/IS2P2, NIST RMF, and vulnerability tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years information assurance experience.
• 3+ years as ISSO or A&A lead on federal systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience taking a federal system through initial ATO with SSP and POA&M management.
• Familiarity with CMS ARS/IS2P2, VA 6500, DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-171/CMMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Assessment & Authorization lifecycle for federal systems.
• Serve as primary security liaison to agency ISSOs, OA, assessors, and prime contractor teams.
• Coordinate security milestones within project plans; ensure timely evidence collection.
• Prepare and maintain SSP, risk assessments, contingency plans, and incident response.
