Job summary

Commence is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security assessments, authorization, and continuous monitoring for federal programs. You will collaborate with CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and project teams to maintain compliance across CMS, VA, DoD, IRS, and DHS requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in information assurance, 3+ years as ISSO/A&A lead, and strong knowledge of NIST RMF, SP 800-53/171, and HIPAA.

Qualifications

The role requires 5+ years in information assurance, with 3+ years as ISSO/A&A lead for federal systems.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
Experience with NIST RMF, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and CMMC 2.0 is highly preferred.
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows is required.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal clearance are required.

Responsibilities

Serve as designated ISSO for federal systems and liaison to agency ISSOs and officials.
Lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring per NIST RMF.
Prepare and maintain SSP, risk assessments, and POA&M with audit readiness.
Coordinate ATO packages and manage remediation across teams (CIO, ISSM, IT Ops).
Lead agency assessments and ensure compliance with CMS ARS, VA, DoD RMF, IRS standards.
