Job summary

Commence is seeking a qualified Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for federal systems. You will liaise with agency security teams, ensure compliance with RMF and NIST standards, and coordinate risk-based remediation with engineers and project managers.

The role supports CMS, VA, DOD, IRS, and DHS/TSA programs, with remote work options and travel, and requires hands-on experience across NIST SP 800-37, 800-53, 800-171,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information assurance or cybersecurity experience.
• 3+ years as an ISSO or A&A lead for federal systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated ISSO for assigned federal systems and act as the primary system-level security liaison.
• Lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring activities.
• Coordinate with CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and project teams to embed security milestones in plans.
