Job summary

Far West Federal is seeking a mission-driven Contract Specialist to support federal client closeouts and post-award activities. The role focuses on administrative, financial, and compliance tasks across the acquisition lifecycle, including processing deobligations and final invoices.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with federal systems, and the ability to interact with government personnel in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; substituted with relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of FAR and federal contract types.
• Experience with federal procurement and financial systems.
• Experience with cost accounting or financial audits is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting contract closeout or post-award administration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate contract files for closeout readiness and resolve outstanding obligations.
• Prepare and submit documentation, modifications, forms, checklists, and completion statements.
• Validate final invoices and apply final indirect rates with closeout procedures.
• Collaborate with COs, financial staff, auditors, and vendors to resolve issues and finalize closeouts.
• Maintain contract systems and file repositories per records management requirements.
• Monitor progress, report milestones and ROI contributions to the Program Manager.
• Support legal research and FOIA/data calls as required.
• Represent Far West Federal professionally in interactions with the government.
