Job summary

AMIkids Family Services in Tampa Bay seeks a Family Support Specialist to engage families and deliver psychoeducation within the Hillsborough County region. The role involves in-home family skills training, orientation of services, and collaboration with schools, shelters, and community partners.

Travel up to 80% of the time supports in-home visits and regional program activity. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with Master’s preferred, and prior experience with at-risk youth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field.
• Two (2) years’ experience with at risk or troubled youth preferred.
• Experience working with families in the home environment and providing counseling or psychoeducation is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel; up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Execute the family engagement and psychoeducation process for youth in the region.
• Provide orientation and initiation of services with families; conduct in-home family skills training.
• Conduct in-home family skills training and assist parents with concerns and/or youth issues.
• Coordinate activities to meet family needs and ensure transition supports.
• Develop partnerships with key individuals and community contacts.
• Administer psychoeducation services per AMIkids Personal Growth Model.
• Oversee family assessments and treatment plans within contractual guidelines.
• Participate in progress meetings with the treatment team.
• Ensure weekly behavioral updates and session notes are current.
• Lead and/or participate in interdisciplinary and care-review meetings.
• Administer First Aid and CPR during emergencies; maintain safety standards.
• Complete administrative tasks, submit reports, and liaise with offices and programs.
• Attend monthly reviews and conduct audits to ensure documentation quality.
