Job summary

Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a Facility Inpatient Coder to join our team. This role assigns ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS and CPT codes based on chart review and coding standards to support accurate billing and healthcare analytics.

HOURS: Full Time 1.0 FTE. This position can be trained and worked fully remote, with teamwork across Aspirus facilities and strong emphasis on confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical record and coding practices requires degree in Health Information Technology or Coding or equivalent with emphasis in coding.
• Previous applicable experience is beneficial.
• Coding accreditation and/or certification is required within 18 months of hire.
• Demonstrates motivation, organization and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and initiative.
• Ability to work as a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS and CPT codes based on chart review and professional coding standards.
• Review and collect health information data elements for patient care, statistics, financials and research.
• Maintain confidentiality of health information.
