Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Senior Coding Quality Auditor to support accurate professional and hospital coding, audits, and documentation improvements. You will interpret coding rules, develop guidance, and coordinate enterprise-wide quality initiatives.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with clinicians, leadership, and education teams to ensure compliance and accuracy. Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC certifications and have 5 years of inpatient/hospital coding experience in a revenue cycle

Qualifications

• Education with coding credentials required (AHIMA or AAPC).
• Minimum 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital coding.
• Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS and hospital-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret and apply coding and regulatory requirements for professional and hospital coding.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance, reference materials and position statements.
• Coordinate coding quality audits and track findings and corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare leadership summaries and reports for quality and compliance reviews.
• Collaborate with leaders to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
