Job summary

Best Buy is seeking an Experience Design Research Associate II to lead medium-to-large research projects from planning through analysis, translating findings into actionable recommendations that inform product development. You will collaborate with design and product teams to embed research into the process.

The role includes mentoring junior researchers and helping scale AI-forward design practices with reusable design guidance, principles, criteria, and constraints.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience conducting research for experience design or related field.
• 1+ years in a design-focused environment.
• 1+ years in ecommerce or multi-channel environments.
• 1+ years planning and guiding medium-to-large studies that integrate user and business goals.
• 1+ years synthesizing research into reusable outputs (principles, frameworks, ontologies, or design guidelines).
• Strong conceptual and systems thinking with ability to define terms, categories, and relationships.

Responsibilities

• Leads planning and execution of medium- to large research studies that integrate user and business goals.
• Embeds research into product development through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Guides junior researchers in defining objectives, selecting methodologies, and aligning work to strategy.
• Leads rigorous, end-to-end data collection using advanced methods for medium- to large projects.
• Creates comprehensive, impactful deliverables and tailors insights for various stakeholders.
