Job summary

Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is offering an Events Intern position. This remote, Wisconsin-based internship runs December 2026 through May 2027 and reports to the Events Director.

The role provides hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing meetings and events that showcase Wisconsin’s economic development initiatives. You will work with the Events team and Marketing & Brand Strategy staff on registration, attendee communications, logistics, and on-site

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program related to event management, public relations, marketing, communications, hospitality, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of conferences, meetings, trade shows, exhibits, and other WEDC events
• Assist with event registration, attendee communications, reporting, and customer service activities
• Coordinate event logistics, materials, and on-site event support
• Manage event and exhibit assets, including signage, promotional materials, and inventory
• Support sponsorship administration and fulfillment activities
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote events and enhance attendee engagement
