Job summary

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is seeking an Events Intern to support planning, coordination, and execution of meetings and events across the state. This remote, Wisconsin-based internship runs December 2026 through May 2027 and reports to the Events Director.

You'll gain hands-on experience in event management, attendee engagement, registration systems, and event marketing while collaborating with the Events team and Marketing staff.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a degree program related to event management, public relations, marketing, communications, hospitality, nonprofit management, or a related field
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a team

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of conferences, meetings, trade shows, exhibits, and other WEDC events
• Assist with event registration, attendee communications, reporting, and customer service activities
• Coordinate event logistics, materials, and on-site event support
• Manage event and exhibit assets, including signage, promotional materials, and inventory
• Support sponsorship administration and fulfillment activities
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote events and enhance attendee engagement
