Qualifications

• Valid MN Special Education Teaching License.
• Location in north central Minnesota preferred.
• Strong collaboration with IEP teams.
• Ability to design instructional activities and adjust teaching strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead special education evaluations including evaluation planning and summary reports.
• Administer student assessments to identify strengths and needs in academic, cognitive, social, emotional and behavioral areas.
• Plan and facilitate the IEP process.
• Support students to increase motivation and monitor progress, with ongoing feedback.
• Implement intervention strategies including positive behavior supports for students with IEPs.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, parents and outside agencies regarding students’ special education needs.
• Adhere to due process timelines and complete special education paperwork per MDE standards.
• Develop IEPs and related assessments within a multidisciplinary team and timelines.
