Job summary

Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Ethics & Compliance Counsel to advance a culture of integrity across the enterprise. This role collaborates with HR, Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management to develop and enhance the ethics framework.

The position requires strong legal judgment, practical problem-solving, and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience, including at least 1 year in ethics/compliance within a multinational company, law firm, or government agency.
• Experience supporting ethics and compliance programs (conflicts of interest, code of conduct, investigations, anti-bribery, or related initiatives).
• Experience advising publicly traded companies preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage conflict of interest program reviews and mitigation plans.
• Provide legal counsel on ethics, compliance, anti-bribery, and corporate conduct issues.
• Advise on ethics policies, procedures, and employee inquiries.
• Manage Ethics Help Line and Ethics Office mailbox with timely resolution of concerns.
• Conduct or oversee internal ethics investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver ethics and compliance training programs and communications.
• Identify compliance risks with cross-functional stakeholders and support mitigation.
• Develop and enhance ethics policies, procedures, and controls.
