Job summary

IES is seeking an Estimator Fiber/Copper, Basket Tray/Ladder Rack - Remote for hyperscale environments. The role focuses on developing design/engineering solutions, preparing cost estimates, and supporting sales and project teams.

This remote position requires strong blueprint interpretation, engineering detail, and collaboration across departments to ensure accurate bids and timely hand-offs. Minimum 4–6 years of experience, HS diploma required with preference for associate/bachelor degrees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in customer interface roles.
• RCDD preferred but not required.
• Structured Cabling industry experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
• Meet company minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete project engineering, select applicable materials, and define the basis for labor estimation.
• Write scope of work and develop cost estimates in response to bid specifications.
• Attend site‑walks and pre‑bid meetings; track site visits and document conditions for design purposes.
• Act as liaison between sales, project management, and operations during installation hand‑off; monitor that sales prices align with actual installation costs.
• Follow company guidelines on vendor/product selection and work with vendors to secure competitive pricing and appropriate lead‑times.
• Provide floor‑plan takeoffs and project applications per the company’s recommended solutions book and technical‑support personnel.
• Ensure all engineering work meets customer and company quality and safety standards.
• Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements as per company training guidelines.
• Meet bid schedules and deadlines, working within tight timeframes.
• Attend and complete job turnover meetings to cover all project details and expectations.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
