Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an ESOL Teacher for a remote, part-time position. In this role you’ll teach beginner to advanced ESOL levels from the ILC Boston, delivering lessons via Zoom and Google Classroom.

The ideal candidate supports immigrants in improving English and employment skills, working collaboratively with program staff, and contributing to student progress while maintaining flexibility for a remote assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; education background preferred
• TESOL/TEFL/TESL certificate preferred
• Eligible to live and work in the US

Responsibilities

• Be a substitute ESOL, Career Advancement, and English for Immigrant Entrepreneurs teacher for adults
• Survey and incorporate learner goals into ESOL coursework
• Develop lesson plans and engaging lessons using ELPS
• Provide a safe, inclusive classroom environment
• Use Google Classroom and Zoom materials effectively
• Present clear objectives for each class
• Incorporate digital literacy into content
• Collaborate with Education and Career Advisor
• Conduct formative and summative assessments regularly
• Communicate issues to Program Director in a timely manner
• Maintain attendance records and progress reports
• Attend teacher meetings and document weekly plans
