Job summary

Colorado Connections Academy is seeking an English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to remotely manage instructional programs for students across Colorado. The role uses telephone, internet, and curriculum tools to consult with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of the program.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified to teach ESL in Colorado with valid ESL certification for grades K-12.
• Experience teaching EL students directly preferred.
• Bilingual preferred, but not required.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Google Suite).
• Customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel for school-based meetings, trainings, back-to-school events, state testing and ELL testing events (occasional overnight travel).
• Ability to work in the office or remotely, when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate language proficiency screenings and testing, staying compliant with state timelines for End-of-Year, Beginning of Year and Middle of Year meetings.
• Travel is required for school-based events and trainings.
• Attend local and state professional development trainings related to EL compliance and instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers and learning coaches to support students and conduct parent conferences.
• Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
• Become proficient with supplemental programs to support English Learners in the virtual setting, including interpreting data.
• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers regularly to discuss assessments and provide feedback on student work and instructional strategies.
• Work with teachers to ensure all students progress through the program and that parents have a central contact point.
