Job summary

Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) is seeking candidates to support the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Office of Protected Resources for duties associated with the preparation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) section 7 consultations.

The position is full-time with a generous benefits package. Salary: $37.00 to $40.00 per hour. Start date as soon as possible. Location is telecommute; work may be performed offsite. A mandatory cover letter must accompany the resume.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Documented evidence of education and/or experience in environmental regulations and the Federal regulatory process; environmental sciences or related fields.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses and research to enable ESA Section 7 consultations.
• Review action agency documents and provide technical assistance as part of ESA consultations.
• Critically analyze literature and agency documents to assess impacts on protected species and develop mitigation/monitoring.
• Perform record-keeping and documentation to ensure ESA compliance.
