Job summary

GHR Healthcare is seeking an experienced Epic Program Manager for a 18-month contract to lead planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale Epic implementation. This role requires strategic oversight across multiple workstreams, aligning executives, clinicians, IT, and vendors while guiding go-live and stabilization.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in healthcare IT PM, 5+ years in enterprise Epic programs, and strong governance and vendor management experience.

Qualifications

10+ years healthcare IT project/program management experience.
5+ years leading enterprise Epic implementation programs.
Experience managing full lifecycle Epic implementations in acute care, ambulatory, or integrated healthcare environments.
Strong understanding of Epic implementation methodology and governance.
Experience managing large cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent workstreams.
Excellent executive communication, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, timelines, risks, and vendor relationships.
Experience with PMI, Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall Epic implementation program, managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables across all project workstreams.
Develop and maintain an integrated master project plan, ensuring milestones and dependencies are tracked and communicated.
Partner with executive sponsors, operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, and Epic representatives to drive project success.
Establish governance structures, facilitate steering committee meetings, and provide executive-level status reporting.
Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues while proactively driving resolution.
Coordinate activities across application teams, infrastructure, revenue cycle, clinical operations, training, testing, data conversion, integration, and change management.
Ensure project adherence to Epic implementation methodologies and organizational project management standards.
Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor performance.
Lead cross-functional decision-making and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Oversee readiness activities including integrated testing, end-user training, cutover planning, go-live preparation, and stabilization.
Foster collaboration across internal teams and external implementation partners.
Drive continuous communication and transparency throughout the project.
