Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc is seeking an Environmental Waste Analyst responsible for technically reviewing waste characterization profiles and ensuring data accuracy. The role determines if waste is acceptable at disposal facilities under regulations, permits, and management methods, protecting facilities and client interests.

Hybrid/Remote options are available with preference for candidates within the operating footprint; travel to Rutland, VT may be required for training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in solid waste or related environmental industry.
• Willingness to travel among Northeast offices; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Review waste characterization profiles and analytical data for accuracy.
• Determine acceptability of waste at disposal facilities per regulations and permits.
• Communicate with customers to address questions and provide updates.
• Prepare approvals for disposal options and coordinate with sales, operations, and environmental staff.
• Maintain and analyze waste data in databases; generate reports as needed.
