ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Engineer based in Charleston, WV, to contribute to environmental and engineering projects across energy, infrastructure, and resources sectors. This remote/hybrid role offers flexible schedules and hands-on experience with clients in the Charleston region and beyond.

Ideal candidates bring a civil/environmental engineering background, strong communication, and team collaboration. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• Internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or FE exam is preferred.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Valid drivers license; occasional travel to client locations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, or stormwater modeling software (training available).

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental inspections and support stormwater compliance activities during construction.
• Assist with civil and environmental engineering design deliverables, including site plans and stormwater management plans.
• Prepare technical reports and permit applications.
• Participate in field-based and office-based project work across energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Ensure health, safety, risk, and quality standards on all project assignments.
